Price Formation and Cost Structure
Pricing for CFNBI services is based on the true cost of delivering high‑quality, reliable data while ensuring the long-term sustainability of operations.
As every project varies in scope, documentation requirements and resource needs, please contact us to obtain a customized quote and develop a workplan tailored to your specific objectives and budget.
Final pricing is determined on a project‑specific basis and reflects the following components:
Consumables: Covers reagents, kits, disposables, and other materials required for biomarker analysis. Costs vary depending on project scope, number of samples, sample readiness, and experimental complexity.
CFNBI Facility Fee: Covers laboratory space, utilities, and general infrastructure required to operate the facility.
Equipment Use and Maintenance: Covers access to specialized instrumentation, and proportional costs of an instrument’s routine maintenance, calibration, service contracts, and depreciation.
Human Resources: Covers time and expertise of CFNBI staff, including experimental design support, hands‑on technical work, data acquisition, quality assurance, and reporting.
User Affiliation Categories: Rates are adjusted according to the affiliation of the project lead, in accordance with institutional and funding guidelines:
UBC Researchers: Internal, cost‑recovery rates aligned with university policies.
External Non‑Profit and Academic Institutions: Reduced or near‑cost rates.
Industry and For‑Profit Organizations: Full cost rates reflecting commercial use.
